Our NEW textbook ‘Forecasting Projects’ (about 600 pages) is the successor of the ‘Forecast Scheduling’ books. This NEW book shows you how you can forecast your project with JUST the project schedule. The author, Eric Uyttewaal, invented the 'Principle of Dynamic Scheduling' that states: If one thing changes in your project, you should have to change only a single cell in your project schedule to have the scheduling engine recalculate the rest of the schedule. Using this principle, you minimize your effort to maintain the schedule during the busy execution phase of your project. This leads to the ‘Principle of Forecast Scheduling’: If your project schedule is set up as a valid, dynamic, robust model of your project, it will continuously forecast your project.

All best practices described in this textbook stem from these two principles. By following them, you will take your scheduling to the next level as a project manager. PMOs will have a framework and checklist to analyze the project schedules in their portfolio.

NEW in this edition of our best seller is:

  • There are three new sections in the textbook each aimed at one of the three typical user profiles we have identified in the marketplace: Time Modeling, Workload Modeling and Cost Modeling. For a detailed explanation, visit here. We will also explain how you can evolve your Time Model into a Workload Model, ditto from Workload Model to Cost Model.
  • You will now be able to certify yourself as a 'Forecast Scheduler' like hundreds of people have already done! Visit here for more information.
  • The textbook comes with companion software called 'Forecast Scheduling Application' that helps you improve the quality of your project schedule with the best practices from the textbook. Visit here for more info.
