For risks, we typically look at their impact and their probability. These two dimensions allow risks to be ranked on importance. Unlike risks, issues only has one dimension: level of priority. In this article, Eric Uyttewaal proposes a second dimension for issues: their age. The longer an issue is allowed to live and cause damage to the project, the more important the issue becomes. This second dimension allows us to create an issues grid similar to the popular risks grid. Also, this second dimension can easily be automated in Project Server since the date an issue is raised is always captured in an issue register.
